“It is good to have an end to journey toward; but it is the journey that matters, in the end…”
We are delighted to share with you some very exciting news about Andrews Inn and the improvements that we are making to ensure that your next holiday with us is a wonderful and truly relaxing experience.
It has only been three months since we left our corporate careers, gray business suits and even grayer skies back in Belgium, and arrived in Key West with our two-year old daughter and only enough luggage to fit into a Fiat 500. It has been the most exciting three months of our lives!
After more than 20 years in corporate life, we were longing for our own place in the sun where we could dedicate ourselves to our true passions of travel, interior design, photography and cooking. And most of all, to doing what we both love most – meeting new people and welcoming them into our beautiful home.
We fell in-love with Andrews Inn at first sight and our love for it has only grown stronger as we have poured all our creativity and labor into enhancements worthy of Andrew’s unique beauty and relaxed essence.
Hurricane Irma paid us an unwelcome visit very soon after we arrived. Luckily Andrews Inn proved that it can withstand a storm. And while the Inn had only a few trees down, our neighbors in the middle & upper Keys suffered severe damage. It truly amazed us to see how the community and city pulled together to clean-up, rebuild and help everyone in need. In a matter of mere weeks, the city was revived and ready to receive visitors. We now truly understand the meaning of “Keys Strong”.
And as the “show must go on”, we just had a most spectacular Fantasy Fest, complete with the amusing “Zombie Bike Ride”, creative and quirky costumes at the Masquerade March and the spectacular and eccentric Fantasy Fest Parade. What a blast! And just a few days later, we were treated to the exhilarating Speed Boat Races. We cannot wait to experience the Fishing Tournament, Film Festival, International Art Show, the Harbor Walk of Lights, Holiday Fest and the many many more Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations and events that are taking place still this year.
Before we get into the many revamps which Andrews has undergone, we want to acknowledge that we could not have done this on our own. We are enormously grateful to our irreplaceable and brilliant manager Lisa, our predecessors Tom and Nancy, and the wonderful, kind, fun and easy-going guests of Andrews Inn who have guided, supported and encouraged us along the way. Without you this dream could not have become a reality.
It gives us great pride and pleasure to announce that the following upgrades have been completed:
- Full redecoration of all 6 rooms of the Inn, including new color schemes, furniture, local artwork, HD televisions, ceiling fans and top of the line linens & towels.
- Improved Wi-Fi technology and service to ensure faultless connectivity anywhere on the property.
- Beautiful new outdoors breakfast and lounge area where an improved selection of cold and warm treats, and champagne are served each morning.
- New outdoor furniture to ensure the total comfort and relaxation of our guests.
- Tiki bar where complimentary happy-hour, ice tea, citrus water and snacks are served.
These enhancements bring an added element of style to the Inn, creating an improved sense of comfortable luxury that also reflects the traditional Key West design and remain true to the Andrews Inn laid back philosophy.
If you have an upcoming stay booked already, we look forward to seeing you soon! If it’s been awhile since you’ve stayed with us, we would love to welcome you back to Andrews Inn and share our beautiful home and stories of our journey with you!
From our family to yours,
Michael, Albena and Alisa
